Filipino Tabachoy food cart has the best cheesesteak in Philadelphia

I’ll just go with a hot take: Philadelphia’s best cheesesteak isn’t at one of the usual suspects but at the humble Filipino food cart Tabachoy.

  • Their soy marinade ensures the meat is flavorful and juicy, instead of the dry sweetness you can get elsewhere. And there’s “chili-vin whiz” and fried shallots!
  • Look, I know none of this is traditional, but it’s so good I made it my birthday meal this year.

I tell you this because you only have one more weekend eat it for a while.

  • Tabachoy announcement this week that the cart will take an extended break after its August 26-28 weekend run. Keep an eye on their Instagram for locations.

The good news is that the break is happening to focus on building Tabachoy new brick and mortar spot near the Italian market, where they can throw higher stuff like this amazing pork monggo I had at a pop-up dinner a few months ago.
