Police have registered an attempted murder case after a 33-year-old man from Visnagar was stabbed repeatedly in the neck for allegedly refusing to serve omelette bread to a man from Visnagar town in Mehsana in Gujarat.

According to police, the incident happened when victim Nagjibhai Baldevbhai arrived at Kansa intersection in Visnagar town with his omelet cart around 9.30pm on Wednesday evening.

The accused, Bhavik Patel, then approached Nagjibhai to cook him a bread omelet. When Nagji told him he was out of bread, Patel allegedly attacked him.

“I work for my boss Aarif Bhai as the head of the omelet cart on Kansa Road. Around 9:30 p.m., we ran out of bread. So my employer Aarif went to a nearby store to buy some bread. Meanwhile, Bhavik came and asked for a bread omelet plate. When I told him we had no bread, he got angry and pulled out a knife and stabbed me in the neck several times,” Nagjibhai said in his police complaint recorded at the Civil Hospital in Mehsana on Wednesday evening.

Visnagar Town Police have filed an IPC 307 complaint against Patel, who remains at large.
