Medford’s food cart is now the first in the city to be allowed to sell alcohol

MEDFORD, Ore — A food truck in Medford is currently the only one in town allowed to sell alcohol with its food.

Pour Favor is a Mexican-style food truck located at 902 North Riverside Avenue. It serves different types of alcohol, including tequila and draft beer.

Truck owner Mercedes Camarena started the business after losing her job in 2020 due to COVID-19.

“I served for 15 years and that’s all I really know how to do,” Camarena said. “I thought why not try serving alcohol with food outside because we didn’t know what was going to happen with COVID.”

Camarena shared that she got her OLCC license in July 2021 and has been at Riverside for the past three months. She said going through the application process was difficult, but worth it nonetheless.

“It feels good because I was really worried when I lost my job and didn’t know how I was going to support my family,” Camarena said. “Now to have my business and see that I’m the first food truck with alcohol is exciting and I’m thankful and thankful.”

At the moment, the business is open from Friday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
