This week, Rey Taco open to 145 SE 82nd Avenue, replacing Su Casa Taqueria. This self-contained food cart is a new venture offering “LA Street Food”. Although reusing the Su Casa Taqueria cart, Rey Taco staff upgraded the interior kitchen features prior to opening. The owners have torn down the pre-existing outdoor seating area and created a new covered terrace with tables. The black cart now has colorful packaging with images of the LA skyline and the restaurant’s logs.
Su Casa Taqueria opened in this location around 2007 as the only food cart in the area. Based on documents filed with the Oregon Business Registry, several people have operated the cart over its sixteen years. The restaurant’s hospitality business also changed during this time. When catering service started from this site, Meineke Car Care Center operated from the single storey service station building. Later Trendsetters Truck and Auto upgraded vehicles from this location. Now the mobile kitchen is in the northwest corner of Max’s Auto Spa parking lot.
Rey Taco serves an assortment of tacos, birria quesa tacos, machetes, tortas, mulitas, burritos, enchiladas and chilaquiles. Consider visiting this new outdoor dining destination and explore the extensive menu. The cart is open daily for lunch and dinner. There is a gap between Facebook and Google Maps regarding opening hours. However, they should start serving customers at 11 a.m. and close after 9 p.m.
